Northern Ireland

SSE Renewables owns 117MW of operational onshore wind farms in locations across Northern Ireland. These include Northern Ireland’s largest wind farm, the 73MW Slieve Kirk Wind Park which overlooks the City of Derry and generates enough wind energy to power almost 65,000 homes annually, or equivalent to all the homes in Derry City and Strabane*.

Equivalent power supply claim based on 60,900 homes in Derry City and Strabane as published in Household Statistics by Local Government District, Census 2021.
