These include Northern Ireland’s largest wind farm, the 73MW Slieve Kirk Wind Park which overlooks the City of Derry and generates enough wind energy to power almost 65,000 homes annually, or equivalent to all the homes in Derry City and Strabane*.

SSE Renewables’ Community Funds for its Northern Ireland wind farms have provided £3.2 million so far to 1,400 community projects since 2008, while the SSE Renewables Scholarship has awarded £1.2 million in third level bursaries from wind power to 350 students since 2014.
