Viking Energy Wind Farm provides Christmas dinner to almost 60 families across Shetland

22 Dec 2022

Staff from Viking Energy Wind Farm have helped spread the festive spirit by bringing Christmas dinner to almost 60 families across Shetland.

The team worked closely with Shetland Island Councils’ Adult Social Care team and Sound Butchers to create Christmas food hampers which will provide help to families and individuals across Shetland that are most in need.

The delivery of the parcels will take place this week and has been organised by the Community Payback Unpaid Work Scheme.

"It has been great to be able to help so many families and individuals especially in these difficult times and I would like to express our thanks to everyone that made it possible. We hope that our food hampers go a little way to helping those in need"

Julie Graham Community Engagement Manager for Viking Energy Wind Farm

"We are pleased to support SSE Renewables as they provide Christmas dinner hampers across Shetland. I would also like to thank the Community Payback Unpaid Work Scheme for organising the delivery of the parcels. The festive season can be a particularly difficult time for individuals and families and advice on living costs can be found at www.shetland.gov.uk/costofliving or phone 0800 030 8780"
