The Griffin wind farm is located on land which is a mixture of upland heather moorland, grassland and commercial forestry to the south of Aberfeldy, in Perthshire, Scotland.

Griffin has three distinct groups of 30, 25 and 13 Siemens 2.3MW turbines from west to east on three broadly parallel ridges. The tip heights (the highest point of the rotor sweep) are up to 124m using 45m and 49m blades.  Griffin was the first wind farm in the UK to utilise 49m turbine blades.

The neighbouring 14 turbine Calliachar wind farm is located to the west of Griffin

Griffin is 100% owned and operated by SSE Renewables.

Griffin and Calliachar Community Fund

Through our Griffin and Calliachar wind farms we make around £500,000 per year available for community and charitable projects. Between 2011 and 2036 we expect to invest £11 million in local projects.

Additional funding is committed to the regional Sustainable Development Fund through the Calliachar wind farm. This fund opens every two years and supports transformational projects across the Perth & Kinross local authority area.
